Some people enjoy, embrace, and thrive off of stress, chaos, and drama in their lives; some will even welcome it. It is not for you to understand, defend, or rescue them from the consequences of their own choices. Let them live the life they have chosen. Help those who seek it... avoid those that don't. It is perfectly okay to give yourself permission to tap out. Tap out of their mess, and  wish them the best.
