You will be surprised at how their positive energy gives you a more positive outlook o n your own experience.  Be the positive influence on the people around you too.  You will help each other seek the silver-lining even if it is hiding behind hard times. Friendship Goals

Image
Whatever you do, live with your eyes wide open. Intentionally surround yourself with the kind of people you admire. Appreciate and exchange the goodness that comes with having them in your life and the privilege of being apart of theirs. Not everyone will show up with positivity, passion, consideration, love, and trust-worthiness as their contribution to your experience, but in those instances, your only job is to notice. Accept people as they are, from where they are, and respect their limitations. Then, create a firm enough buffer around yourself that their limits do not adversely affect your life or how you are living it. Smile, play, laugh, relax, and enjoy your life as much as you can. Choose what kind of experience you want to have and whole-heartedly pursue it everyday. Be an example of the kind of person everyone should and wants to have in their corner and be grateful for the ones that live up to the task for you. Life can be short or long so make sure you are in good company....

We The People In Pursuit...

Image
Choose to be in the midst of people who operate on the same wave as you do, with optimistically real goals, inspiration and aspirations that take up so much of their attention that all they can do is be in positive pursuit like you, and can not be distracted by the shouting naysayers behind them either. Learn from them, take heed in what they can offer as they journey to their own greatness, and be a supportive post for them to rest against as you would have them be for you.  Do not get tangled up in the drama, pessimism, doubt, fears, and negativity that others innately carry with them and attract. Limit those associations with those kind of people because they mostly provide very little other than distractions. Surround yourself with people who will voice their honest concerns but respect your decisions and honor your journey as your own. Be the reminder each other may need when your own voice is weak that happiness is a thought away, success is only part of the experience, the w...

Exit Stage Left

Image
That person that walked away, well, they had to go. Do not allow yourself to question their exit just know they came, served their purpose, and now it is done. That is all. They can no longer take up your time, they can no longer have your attention, they can no longer be a distraction from what you really need to be busy doing. Now, all you have to do is determine what your experience with them taught you, and how it will help you blossom into one that is closer to the best version of you. That is all. Anyone that can walk out of your life now has no business experiencing your awesomeness in the future. Be thankful for whatever lesson you caught from them, and grateful for the space and time you now have to be filled with experiences that nourish and sustain you verses those that distract or drain you. ~For more positive posts check out www.twitter.com/_TheAnswerKey & fb.me/TheAnswerKey daily!

A Friendly Check-Up

Image
Every now and then there are experiences that either grow us closer to the people around us or further apart. With that comes the time to evaluate your relationships and make adjustments accordingly. A friendly check-up is healthy to make sure the relationships you have are consistently serving you and not constantly draining you. An author once said something to the affect of make sure everyone in your boat is rowing and not busting holes in the bottom when you are not looking. The truth is everyone you come in contact with will not have your best interest at heart, figure out who they are and send them packing. That said, when you find people that inspire you, encourage you, and support you without judgement- those are the ones you keep around and cherish them like treasure. ~For more positive posts follow twitter.com/_TheAnswerKey  &  fb.me/TheAnswerKey!  Make It A Super-Great Day!~

Dear Giver, Who Will Show Up For You?

When you are a giver it is very easy to be taken for granted. When people need you, you tend to show up even at the expense of your personal responsibilities. While it is crucial that you maintain your nature, it is difficult to be true to yourself after the experience of being used. Admittedly, it is easy to want to change how you show up, how often, and to what degree you support the people in your life. The balancing act of how much is too much and learning who is deserving is such a hard practice to take in, but it forces you to slow down and think about the consequences that come with every decision to show up. Do yourself a favor and take stock of the people in your circle. This practice forces you to decipher who belongs in your circle and who does not; it is a form of self-preservation.  You do not have to change the kind, loving, generous person you are, just be mindful of the people you are giving yourself to.  When you do figure out the difference between peopl...

Happy For Who?

Have an appreciation for the blessings of others makes. This practice will make you more open to joy in general verses that solely based on your own accomplishments. Embrace the blessings bestowed on others in your circle with the same enthusiasm you would have for yourself. Appreciating the pleasantries, accomplishments, and successes occurring within your circle creates good, positive energy exchanges. Stay in the positive and share in each others joy. Everything that is meant for someone else, even if it may be something you want as well, brings positivity to your whole. Someone else's success or accomplishment does not lessen your chances with your blessing. That said, simply appreciate the fact that this is their time and be happy for them. Be so happy for others that it overflows into your own life. Your blessings will come in the time that is most perfect for you and your life. The best thing you can do for yourself is learn to be happy for other people's successes...

Are You Sharing Joy?

Have you ever had a sense that someone was not as happy for you as they seemed? While they were clearly making an effort to put on a happy face, you could tell that their words were disingenuous and more in the name of political correctness than true happiness. Certainly they did not hope for your misfortune, but their joy is faker than a 2 dollar diamond. Try as they may, you can feel the difference. Why is it so difficult for some to share in another's joy? Sometimes people can become disconnected from another's joy because of their own aspiration. Their desires, goals, or lack there of, can cloud their appreciation for the blessings in someone elses life. Avoid this pitfall at all costs. Life is a journey, not a race. It does not matter how quickly you have, achieve, or succeed, but only that you do so in your own time. Forcing yourself to live by someone else's scale may bring you what you want, but it's longevity will be limited. Having an appreciation for the ble...

Your 5 Friends and the Purpose They Serve

There are 5 different types of friends. Every friend in your circle serves a purpose. The idea is to recognize what each of your friends bring to the table and what kind of friend you are to them. The purpose of this list is to give an outline of what kind of people you attract and what you can have less or more of in your life. Knowing who you are associating with can help you weed out the negativity and embrace the positivity. The first is the optimist. The optimist is the person that sees the brighter side of every situation. This friend is always looking for the positive, silver lining of your circumstance. He/she plays a very important role in your life. When you find yourself in difficult situation, at a crossroad, or feel as if there is little to no good that can come from your situation; if there is any good to be found, they will find it. While their chipper, optimistic outlook may be welcomed and comforting, it may also not be a realistic viewpoint. Then there i...

Friendships- When to Let Go and How

While I know it is difficult to let friends go, sometimes it is also necessary for your own growth. Everyone that you befriend throughout your life's journey is not meant to be with you for the long haul. I look at friends like airport passengers. You go to the airport and get seated next to a stranger- while you indulge in playful banter, when you get off the plane you go your separate ways. They head off to their next destination as do you, and you may never cross paths again. You know this from the moment you sit down and engage in a conversation with them, but you participate anyway because you are both open to the exchange of pleasantries while you are on this journey together. However, when the plane has landed, you courteously wish them happy trails and continue down your own path. You could walk away with something informative or even enlightening from that interaction which you will mentally credit that stranger for sharing, but you don't chase them through the airpor...
