What We Know...

What we know for sure is that TIME is passing whether we use it productively or not. There is no pause button for life. There are only choices. You can choose to be actively participating in your own life or not. You can choose to be a present, loving, partner in your relationship or not. You can choose to be present in more moments of your life than not, but time will not wait for you to decide. Every bit of time is an opportunity for you to invest in yourself, in others, or in nothing at all. No matter what you choose, your time will be spent anyway. Use your time wisely. Never let your day be done and have spent none of your time on yourself. Release any guilt or shame that may be associated with "selfishness" when spending time on and with you. Learn to appreciate your own company. Remember that you are your greatest investment. Let the people counting on you get the best version of yourself; one that is healthy, well-rested, and personally fulfilled. Your time is priceless so  be careful where you make your investments, and when you spend it make sure whatever or whoever is well worth the amount of time you are trading for them.

Refuse to give them the audience they crave. Know when you are above the fray, and act accordingly. Remain elevated. Remember that you are pragmatic, motivated, sophisticated, and celebrated among those that truly know you. They will always think what they want, and there is nothing you can do about it. Now, you be the judge. Judge for yourself. Look yourself in the mirror and answer to you. Everyone else's take is just their opinion. The ideas they have formed about who they think you are have nothing to do with you, who you are, or who you are becoming. Even for the people that matter, whose opinions you hope are positive and at the very least, pragmatic- they only know some of your depth. Even they can not attest to your every challenge, consideration, conquest, desire or fear. Speak for yourself and speak up.
