Self-care is always priority number one. On an airplane they tell you to secure your mask first for a reason; you are in no position to help or save anyone else if you have not taken the time to take care of you. Know when it is time to cut ties with the the ignorant, the indecent, classless, dramatic, disrespectful, and the delusional- let them go. Let them be and fester amongst themselves. Refuse to give them the audience they crave. Know when you are above the fray, and act accordingly. Remain elevated. Remember that you are pragmatic, motivated, sophisticated, and celebrated among those that truly know you. They will always think what they want, and there is nothing you can do about it. Now, you be the judge. Judge for yourself. Look yourself in the mirror and answer to you. Everyone else's take is just their opinion. The ideas they have formed about who they think you are have nothing to do with you, who you are, or who you are becoming. Even for the people that matter, whose opinions you hope are positive and at the very least, pragmatic- they only know some of your depth. Even they can not attest to your every challenge, consideration, conquest, desire or fear. Speak for yourself and speak up.
