When You Have Been Chosen

Please be mindful that people choose to be in your life. No one is enslaved by your awesomeness. Sorry, but every day everyone in your life makes a choice to be apart of it, especially your partner. From everyone else you can take a break or they can back away for a while; that option is always available. Your partner, on the other hand, is there through the good, the bad, and the ugly no matter. Some days may require some struggle or compromise, but even in those times they refuse to give up, hold on with an even firmer grip, and push forward with you, even if it means they must carry you on their back for a while, they do. I think we all can agree that being involved with someone in the best way means having a healthy relationship. That connection should consist mostly of the constantly repeated reciprocation of consideration and appreciation of each other. At no time should you assume that person is no longer choosing you. Be aware that every day they wake up and choose to stay as do you. Do not allow the fluidity, ease, or longevity of your relationship to desensitize you to its beauty and amazement. Despite whatever junk you each came with and the awareness that there are other possibilities out there, you are together anyhow. Stay conscious of the fact that both of you are choosing each other, choosing to work together, accepting your flaws, forgiving your errors, and loving each other for another day, hour, minute, or moment. Do not take for granted that in an instant everything can change, and it all could be over. No matter how badly you may wish, hope, dream, or pray for it, it may never be again. Here's the key, if you are in love understand and appreciate it is not just for how it feels; all the ways it fills you up with satisfaction, picks you up when you are down, and takes care of you when you need it most, but most of all, you are in love as an acknowledgement and in appreciation of the person from whence the love flows.
